Why does FEI emphasize the importance of semantic precision?

Semantic precision refers to the careful association of meanings with the words we use to represent them. It is one of the essential requirements for effective communication. Many of the problems in human interaction derive from semantic imprecision; that is, from people using the same words to mean different things. Communication is essential to successful human interaction, and semantic precision is essential to successful communication.

What are the little W3C symbols at the bottom of FEI's website pages?

They are images that contain clickable links to the W3C validator, certifying that the page on which they appear validates to the standards specified in the validation results.

Why is W3C validation important?

Pages that validate to W3C standards will display correctly and perform properly on W3C compliant web browsers. We have designed our web pages to look and perform in a certain way. When you view them in a W3C compliant web browser, the pages will look and perform in exactly the way we intend them to when you view them.
